Welcome to Happening Homeschool!
Hi, I’m Reasa—a mom to two curious, energetic kids and the creator of Happening Homeschool. I started this platform to challenge the common MYTH that homeschooling limits social opportunities for children.
Where We Began
“Having friends to connect with showed me that our homeschool experience didn’t have to be isolating.”
One of the most common questions I hear from other parents looking to homeschool is, "What about socialization?" When we first began homeschooling during the early days of COVID-19, I had similar concerns. Social distancing and business closures made it difficult to find activities and events for our family. But even in those challenging times, we discovered creative ways to stay active along with the only other homeschool family we knew at the time. Having friends to connect with showed me that our homeschool experience didn’t have to be isolating - even in the height of a pandemic.
What We Discovered

When COVID restrictions began to lift the following year, we were able to join a homeschool co-op, and everything changed! Our family found an amazing, welcoming community where parents eagerly shared resources and connected through weekly classes, playdates, field trips, and homeschool events. With new friendships and word-of-mouth suggestions, I realized homeschooling offers far more social opportunities than I ever imagined.
As I dove deeper into the homeschooling world, I began to see just how many educational and social opportunities are available during traditional school hours—but also how difficult they can be to find. While there’s no shortage of social opportunities, discovering them often requires hours of searching through countless websites and online forums. To add, many of the existing kid-friendly events calendars only feature a fraction of homeschool events, leaving out many of the resources families truly need.

I created Happening Homeschool to be a one-stop events calendar & resource for homeschooling families. My goal is to save you time and energy so you can spend less time searching and more time connecting, learning, and having fun.
