Harvey B. Gantt Center

Students can dive deep into learning about black history and culture at the Harvey B. Gantt Center in Uptown. Visitors of all ages can engage with inspiring exhibits and explore the work of talented Black artists. Guided tours are available for groups of 10 or more with advance scheduling and a fee. Whether you visit with your family or organize a field trip with your co-op, it’s an enriching, educational experience for all.

Museum of York County

Originally known as the Children's Museum of Rock Hill, the Museum of York County continues to bring the natural history of the Carolinas to life. Visitors can learn more about the Carolina Ice Age and explore the fascinating creatures that have called this area home from the past to the present. Students can visit the  Naturalist Center, stroll along the nature trail, or visit the museum's gardens for a full day of nature and learning! Homeschool programs are offered throughout the year, and group tours are available for an additional fee, offering an enriching experience for families and co-ops.

Sullenberger Aviation Museum

The sky's the limit at the Sullenberger Aviation Museum at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport! Discover the world of aviation history through captivating stories, artifacts, and interactive exhibits. Explore an impressive collection of aircraft, including the plane famously known as the Miracle on the Hudson. The museum also offers special Homeschool Day Adventures, where students can participate in hands-on learning stations and enjoy an exciting day of exploration and discovery. Homeschool co-ops can also arrange a group field trip with advance registration for a deeper learning experience. Parking is always free and picnic tables are available onsite.

The Sheile Museum of Natural History

Discover the wonders of natural history at The Schiele. Explore engaging exhibits featuring wildlife, animal habitats, dinosaurs, and more! Visitors can also enjoy the farm and scenic nature trail for an added educational experience. Enhance your experience by attending a show at the planetarium as an add-on to general admission. School groups and homeschool co-ops of 15 or more can arrange a field trip or special program by booking in advance for a discounted group rate.

North Carolina Transportation Museum

Get on board for a memorable journey through the NC Transportation Museum, featuring North America’s largest remaining roundhouse! Don’t miss the museum’s special events and exhibits that highlight the rich history of transportation. Families and small groups will enjoy a self-guided tour with general admission, or upgrade your ticket to include an exciting train ride! Groups of 15 or more can also visit at a discounted rate for self-guided tours with reservations.
