Discovery Place Science offers the ultimate STEM experience featuring hands-on, interactive exhibits, exciting science labs, live shows, and immersive shows at the planetarium! A day trip to Discovery Place offers a fun and educational way to bring science to life and spark the curiosity of your budding scientist. Garage parking is available, and the center provides opportunities that engage students of all ages.

Visit the makerspace at one of five Charlotte Mecklenburg library locations, which are open to visitors of all ages! The makerspace features 3D printing, sewing machines, a green screen, a heat press, audio recording, Cricut Maker, laser cutting, and more, offering endless possibilities for creativity! Visitors can bring a craft or learn a new skill with the help of a librarian. You can arrange a small group tour with a librarian to explore the creative opportunities available or book a time in advance to work on a personal project. Please note: appointments are required—walk-ins will not be accepted. While the equipment is free to use, a charge for materials applies. Contact your local makerspace to plan your visit today!

With over 30 engaging exhibits spanning a range of scientific topics, students can explore and learn through play. Take a break in the sensory room or enjoy the outdoor play area for a full day of fun and discovery!

STEAM at Charlotte Motor Speedway
Get ready for a fun adventure at the Charlotte Motor Speedway STEAM Homeschool Days! Students will dive into the physics and engineering behind motorsports with a full day of fun, hands-on activities. Each event includes an exciting experience on the 1.5-mile NASCAR speedway track for an unforgettable experience! Please note: Student activities will be divided by grade levels. All participants are required to bring a signed waiver on the day of the event.
